I was the lead developer in the VilPower Mobile Apps project, developing the two mobile applications used for configuration of the VilPower Bionic Arm.
The VilPower Bionic Arm is an exoskeleton device, for people with reduced mobility. Unlike prostheses, which replace a lost body part, this solution acts as an augmentation of the user’s own arm. By sensing and amplifying the user’s movements, the exoskeleton arm can significantly improve the mobility and quality of life of those who use it.
My role was designing the architecture and implementing two applications for Technical users and Patients, respectively. I worked with talented UX designers at TogetherTech to get design renders and design assets for the two mobile applications.
I was also involved in documentation, risk assessment and deployment of the applications. The app is an accessory to a medical device and is treated with the same care as other medical products.
